چکیده
Agricultural zonal migrations and altitudinal shifts of high chill requirements fruit trees such as apple is considered a way adaptation to climate change in mountain agriculture. This study examines near far future options (2050-2070) this local method four village clusters Mount-Lebanon, involving the expansion agricultural lands suitable regions under different degrees scenarios temperature increase precipitations regime fluctuation. A Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping calculation model was established for land evaluation which aims locate spaces where agriculture development indicators soil type, slope, temperatures, will be cultivation models. The does not seek exact delineation plots much location areas with trend relevance next 30 50 years. classification tool help Mount-Lebanon farmers growers adapting locally by choosing best spots migrate their crops to. Results showed that most viable, are already use production (mainly) 4 clusters, leaving small parcels variable agro-potentials developed favorable conditions. potential altitude exceeding 2000 meters validated studied area, especially since climatic irrigation conditions there can present serious challenges.

Potential climate forcing of land use and land cover change
Pressure on land resources is expected to increase as global population continues to climb and the world becomes more affluent, swelling the demand for food. Changing climate may exert additional pressures on natural lands as present-day productive regions may shift, or soil quality may degrade, and the recent rise in demand for biofuels increases competition with edible crops for arable land. ...
متن کاملLand use as climate change mitigation.
As the international community works to develop a postKyoto framework for responding to climate change over the next several decades, policymakers should give serious consideration to broadening the range of management strategies beyond those conventionally defined as “mitigation”. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) mitigation concerns “implementing policies to re...

Climate change stand as the most important challenge in the future. Horticulture is one of the most sensitive and vulnerable sectors to the climate change. Climate change and global warming will endanger the production of agricultural products and food security. Because of required longer time to fruit production, fruit trees are heavily susceptible to damage from climate change. The purpose of...
متن کاملDynamics of habitat changes as a result of climate change in Zagros Mountains Range (Iran), a case study on Amphibians
Climate change is currently considered a serious threat for many species and recognized as one of the most important factors in the global biodiversity loss. Among animal groups, amphibians are known to be among the most sensitive groups of vertebrates to climate change due to their inability to travel long distances, and mountain habitat species are more exposed to climate change pressures tha...
متن کاملAdaptation of forest trees to climate change
There is an urgent need to determine the adaptive potential of forest trees given their importance in ecosystem functioning and the associated ecological and economic services they provide. Indeed, underestimating rapid adaptation could lead to unnecessary recommendations such as the use of non-native (and perhaps non-adapted) genetic material for reforestation. Overestimating adaptive potentia...
